Instructors

CEO & Co-founder Change by Degrees Dr. Tara Shine

Dr Tara Shine is a specialist on climate change, the environment and development, having 20 years experience advising leaders, governments, multilateral agencies and civil society. Tara has worked with Irish Aid, the Swedish Development Agency (Sida), the OECD, the World Bank, The Elders and the Mary Robinson Foundation – Climate Justice. Tara is Chair of the Board of Trustees of the International Institute for Environment and Development and a member of faculty of Homeward Bound, a global leadership programme for women in science. She is board member of Enterprise Ireland. She is co-facilitator of the Structured Expert Dialogue (SED) of the 2nd Periodic Review under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, a process to monitor progress and enhance delivery on Paris Agreement goals. Tara is a science communicator, TV presenter and author of ‘How to Save Your Planet One Object At A Time’ published by Simon and Schuster.

CPO & Co-founder Madeleine Murray

Madeleine Murray taught and researched in the School of Archaeology UCD and the National Museum of Ireland as well as working as an archaeological manager in the private sector. She is expert in employee sustainability engagement, narrative crafting and messaging and is passionate about helping businesses to create and tell their sustainability stories. Madeleine has a Diploma in UX Design making her the first Irish sustainability adviser to use sustainability and UX as a problem-solving tool for business. She was winner of the 2020 Emerging New Business Award at Network Cork. Madeleine is also a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman holding several company directorships, one of which was an award-winning sushi company that was incubated on the High Potential Start Up Course in The Rubicon Centre, C.I.T.

Sustainability Expert Dr. Ciarán O'Carroll

Ciarán has spent 12 years working in sustainability strategy development, reporting and communications for organisations including PwC, L'Oréal and ActionAid.  He is a consultant with Change by Degrees and a lecturer in TU Dublin.
